A press room
with a conscience.

We started Design Printing in 2008 with one Heidelberg press and a belief that great print shouldn't cost the earth. Fifteen years on, we've grown to a team of 28, but the principles haven't changed.

Every job we run is carbon-neutral. We use vegetable-based inks, FSC-certified papers, and renewable energy. Because beautiful print and responsible practice aren't opposites — they belong together.

We started Design Printing in 2008 in a small unit in Manchester with one press and a lot of ambition. Today we're one of the UK's leading independent print companies — but the principles haven't changed.

How we print
responsibly.

Print has a reputation for waste. We're determined to change that. Every job we run is carbon-neutral — we measure the emissions from paper production through to delivery, and offset them through verified projects.

We use FSC-certified papers and boards wherever possible, vegetable-based inks that don't release VOCs into the atmosphere, and alcohol-free dampening systems. Our presses are the latest generation — faster, more efficient, and more precise than anything that came before.

We also recycle. Every offcut, every misprint, every plate goes back into the cycle. We've eliminated landfill waste from our press room entirely.

What file format should I supply?

PDF is our preferred format — it preserves fonts, images, and colour settings. We also accept AI, EPS, PSD, and high-resolution TIFF/JPEG. All files should be supplied at actual size with 3mm bleed on all sides and in CMYK colour mode.

How long does production take?

Standard turnaround is 48 hours from artwork approval. Next-day dispatch is available for an additional fee on most products. Bespoke projects and large-format work may take longer — we'll confirm at the quoting stage.

Do you offer trade accounts?

Yes — we work with designers, agencies, and print brokers across the UK. Trade accounts get preferential pricing, dedicated account management, and 30-day payment terms. Email trade@designprinting.co.uk to apply.

Can I order samples before committing?

Absolutely. We offer a free sample pack with papers, finishes, and examples of our work. For bespoke projects, we can produce a physical proof (charged at cost) before the full run.

What's your reprints policy?

If we've made an error — wrong quantity, colour mismatch, damaged in transit — we'll reprint at no cost. If you'd like to reorder the same job, we keep your files for 12 months and can usually turn reprints around in 24 hours.
